Why do precision circuit boards use selective coating machines?

Some electronic components on precision circuit boards cannot be coated, so a selective coating machine must be used for coating to prevent the electronic components that cannot be coated from being coated with conformal coating.

Conformal anti-paint is a liquid chemical product that is used on the motherboards of various electronic products. It can be applied to the motherboard with a brush or spray. After curing, a thin film can be formed on the motherboard. If the application environment of electronic products is relatively harsh, such as moisture, salt spray, dust, etc., the film will block these things from the outside, allowing the motherboard to operate normally in a safe space.

Three-proof paint is also called moisture-proof paint and insulating paint. It has an insulating effect. If there are energized parts or connected parts on the board, it cannot be painted with conformal anti-corrosion paint.

Of course, different electronic products require different conformal coatings, so that the protective performance can be better reflected. Ordinary electronic products can use acrylic conformal paint. If the application environment is humid, polyurethane conformal paint can be used. High-tech electronic products can use silicone conformal paint.

The performance of three-proof paint is moisture-proof, anti-corrosion, anti-salt spray, insulation, etc. We know that conformal coating is developed and produced for various electronic product circuit boards, so what should we pay special attention to when using conformal coating?

Three-proof paint is used for secondary protection on circuit boards of electronic products. Generally, the outside of the motherboard needs to have a shell to block large amounts of moisture. The film formed by the three-proof paint on the motherboard is to prevent moisture and salt spray from damaging the motherboard. of. Of course we have to remind users. Three-proof paint has the function of insulation. There are some places on the circuit board where conformal anti-coat paint cannot be used. Components that cannot be painted with circuit board conformal paint:

1. High power with heat dissipation surface or radiator components, power resistors, power diodes, cement resistors.

2. DIP switch, adjustable resistor, buzzer, battery holder, fuse holder (tube), IC holder, tact switch.

3. All types of sockets, pin headers, terminal blocks and DB headers.

4. Plug-in or sticker-type light-emitting diodes and digital tubes.

5. Other parts and devices that are not allowed to use insulating paint as specified in the drawings.

6. The screw holes of the PCB board cannot be painted with conformal anti-paint.
